YAC Sock Fundraiser – Spreading Warmth This Holiday Season

The Valley Regional High School Youth Action Council (YAC) is leading a holiday sock fundraiser to support local students and families through Tri-Town Youth Services. Funds raised will be used to purchase holiday gift cards for families in need within our community. In addition, for every three-pack of socks sold, the company will donate one pair to a local organization serving those in need. This student-led effort is a wonderful example of youth giving back and creating positive change right here at home. 🧡 Every purchase helps spread warmth, kindness, and community spirit this holiday season.

OUR MISSION:

Tri-Town Youth Services Bureau, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Chester, Deep River, and Essex, Connecticut. We coordinate, develop, and deliver programs that support the positive growth of youth and families. Moreover, we work to build thriving communities through prevention, education, and outreach.

Empathy in Action

Tri-Town Youth Services is proud to introduce our Empathy in Action Initiative, a new effort designed to help youth build compassion, resilience, and stronger connections with others. As a cornerstone of our prevention and positive youth development work, this initiative brings meaningful opportunities for kids and teens to practice understanding and kindness in everyday life.

Current programs include:

  • Story Times at Local Libraries – Through interactive readings and activities, children learn to recognize feelings and explore kindness in fun, engaging ways. Our programs at the Deep River and Chester libraries are designed for children in grades K–3, while the Essex Library program is especially suited for littles ages 3–5.
  • Connections Club – A supportive space where middle school youth foster inclusivity, friendship, and allyship.
  • Youth Action Council (YAC) Middle School – Student-led projects that build leadership skills while addressing real community challenges with empathy at the core.

👉 Together, we can turn empathy into action, one story, one conversation, and one connection at a time.

The Empathy in Action Initiative is made possible through funding from the Middlesex United Way Middlesex Community Impact Grant. With this support, we are creating a culture where young people feel seen, valued, and empowered to make a difference.
