About US

Youth Service Bureaus began in the U.S. in 1972, using federal Juvenile Justice funds to prevent juvenile delinquency. In Connecticut, they were established by state law in 1975 to support youth and families. Founded in 1984, the Tri‑Town Youth Services Bureau serves Deep River, Essex, and Chester, CT. Our mission is to help young people build strong relationships with family, school, peers, and community.

What We Offer

Each year, we reach about 1,300 children and youth through prevention education, life‑skill building, and support programs. In FY 2024, more than 500 participants engaged directly in our workshops, trainings, and community events.

Our Core Values
  • Respectful: We honor every youth, family, and community member.

  • Strength-Based: We focus on each individual’s assets and potential.

  • Accessible: Everyone deserves quality resources, no matter their ability to pay.

  • Ethical & Welcoming: We uphold high integrity while remaining approachable and friendly.
