Psychology Today

Psychology Today suggests that caregivers can foster children’s eagerness to learn by reading to them and discussing various topics, introducing new words and ideas.

The Early Childhood Council (ECC), Region IV

Mission

Our mission is to raise awareness about the educational needs of three-, four-, and five-year-old children. We are committed to providing resources to parents and early childhood educators in Connecticut’s public school district Region IV, ensuring seamless communication among caregivers.

History

The Early Childhood Council (ECC) started in the 1980s with a simple lunch at a playground picnic table. Preschool directors from various local programs, recognizing the importance of early childhood experiences, met to discuss how many children missed out due to financial constraints, sparking a valuable exchange of ideas thus forming the ECC.
